General Motors, Chrysler and Ford are asking congress for a 25 billion dollar bailout. General Motors is burning through 1 billion dollars a month and will be out of cash in early 2009.My position on this, I feel really bad for the jobs that are being lost, thats the worst part of it. But the designers at these companies have been putting out poor designs for years. These companies built their base on trucks, so when trucks and suvs got scarce because of gas prices, they were all left dumbfounded. The imports and their designs are so far ahead, and in my industry the luxury vehicles have the staying power. We have two good luxury brands in Cadillac Escalade and Corvette. The XLR should be included, but this vehicle does not stand as well against the import roadsters such as SL.
